My Delphin Journey

Assalammu'alaikum family, friends, readers and followers of this blog. Well, after receiving plenty of comments asking me if my review for the Delphin still stands after having it for 2 years, I decide to write it here separately.

Many have asked if Delphin is worth investing in, afterall it is not cheap - costing between $2000- almost $4000. Mine was an old model and it was almost $3000. We too hesitate and question if this is a real need. Having weigh down the amount of dust, the irritation to dust, and the coming haze, we decided to just get it in the end.

We put it to use immediately and have been pulling it out to use every 2-3 days, up till today. Assuming i use it thrice a week over a span of 80 weeks, that is 240 times usage, its suction is still awesome, every part of it, despite being abused, is still functional, it cleans the air still, the sound coming from the motor is still pretty low decibel, and oh yes it still suck so well, every bit of the dust gets sucked in alright!

I especially enjoy it when I first shifted to my new house, with ongoing renovations from neighbours around me, this machine has been doing air cleaning for me oh so well. The house don't feel too dusty, and the air felt clean with a tint of lemon (as I conveniently added a few drops of lemon essential oil in it).

What makes it especially great is that there is really minimal maintenance, no need to buy new filters, no need to worry about broken filters of that sort because it just uses water! I just couldn't emphasize it enough. Its patented L-Lamella is just brilliant. I can use my Delphin to suck in water or use it in dry without worrying about changing the filter like any other wet and dry vacuums in the market. Delphin make it so simple and easy.

And no.. I don't get paid writing about Delphin, This is my honest review.

If you want one, or require a demo, please do not hesitate to call Mr Patrick at 83822882 and tell him you were recommended by Jun (Casa Clementi).

I hope this answers your doubts. Sorry no pictures this time, I wrote this in the office. :p

An avid Delphin user,
Jun

Wassalam.

Review on Muslimah Hair Salon(s)

Assalammu'alaikum family, friends, readers and followers of this blog. I know and well aware that I've haven't been blogging reviews for awhile now, in fact I have been "missing" for 4 weeks!

Been overwhelmed with a lot of work lately which means too much of late nights in the office.. Still, it is not an excuse, right? So here's to my many overdue reviews!!

We all know, I only patron Muslimah Hair Salon since I don the hijab except for that one occassion after my accident, in which I had difficulties and resort of some place I regretted patronizing.

What makes a Muslimah Hair Salon?

Privacy

As Muslimahs, we are to protect our aurat, and hair is one of them. We don't wish for any males to peek in and watch our hair getting done. Therefore, a Muslimah Hair Salon needs to have that privacy covered, have their doors tinted to opaque, or have curtains to cover behind the doors. It is a MUST, definitely.

To be honest, that is all it takes to make a Muslimah Hair Salon. Everything else may remain the same as any other hair salons you see out there.

How many Muslimah Hair Salon are there in Singapore?

Hmmm.. With Mr Google helped, it led me to this list:

Faredah Muslimah Hair Salon
Located at Blk 824, Tampines St 81

An Nisaa Muslimah Hairdressing Salon
Located at No 726, North Bridge Road

Yasmin Hair Studio for Muslimah
Located at Blk 326, Woodlands St 32

Jannah Muslimah Hair Salon
Located at 970, Geylang Road

Salon Khairunnisa Hair Beauty & Spa
Located atKembangan Plaza, 18 Jln Masjid

Nora Muslimah Hair Salon
Located at Blk 491, Jurong West Ave 1

I have personally been to Yasmin Hair Studio and Nora Muslimah Hair Salon ONLY. And so I can only review these two mentioned, insyaAllah, if time permits, I shall give the other salons a try. And below shall me my utmost honest comparison and personal choice, ya. Both businesses did not pay me for this review, nor was I given any free services to do this review. All visits to their salon are personally paid for by my own hard earn money. Any discounts, however, is out of goodwill and is NOT in any way linked to my intention to write about them in my blog.

Yasmin Hair Studio vs Nora Muslimah Hair Salon

Location

Yasmin Hair Studio (YHS)
Picture is taken from Muslimah Hair Salon FB Page
Rating 3 out of 5

Nearest MRT: Marsiling, about 5-10minutes walk.
Buses: 187,856, 925, 926, 950, 960, 961, 963, 966
However, for those with accompanying husbands, the place there has nothing for the husband. No where to sit, except a coffee shop (but I did not check if there are any Malay/Muslim Stalls). So if your husband is going to babysit the child while you are it, the husband better have plans to go elsewhere and not just around the area - well unless you stay around there.

Nora Muslimah Hair Salon (NMHS)
Picture is taken from Nora Muslimah Hair Salon FB Page
Rating 3 out of 5

Nearest MRT: Lakeside or Chinese Garden
Buses : 335 from Chinese Garden, 49 from Lakeside MRT, other buses include: 98,99,157,185,187,198,334,502,542 & 657
However, for those with accompanying husbands, the place is great! Plenty of kopitiams. If he babysits children, he has an option to treat the children for MacDonalds! It is very nearby, so for SOS cases, like in exclusively breastmilk babies, he can just run to the Salon, and call you so you can rescue the baby, in within 5-10mins, probably less considering the emergency, yes? *winks*

My personal rating for NMHS is actually a 4, as it is near me (I am residing in Clementi), and the fact that it has more amenities nearby for husband and baby/children.

Service

YHS
Rating 3 out of 5
Liza (the salon owner) is reserved and someone of little words. It is either the TV or the radio on to keep you company. Unless you ask her, she hardly talks. It depends how you see it, some people just want to get their hair done and nothing of a small talk kindda service, then perhaps this is for you with a 5 star rating. I often fall asleep after awhile because it is very quiet and falling asleep with a steamer in your head seems to make some sense.

NMHS
Rating 5 out of 5
Nora (the salon owner) is total opposite of Liza. She is highly service oriented, and will keep you entertained even when you really just want to sleep while your hair takes the hour to steam up. Don't worry, you can just tell her if you really just want to nap, I doubt she'd bite you for that!

She can talk about 1001 things, you name it, she can relate! Her salon has a TV as well, so we ended up talking about more than just 1001 things. Anyhoo, she is one with a basket full of advice (hair wise!), if you are torn between ten haircuts, show it to her, and she will list down all the pros and cons considering your hair texture and even goes on to tell you what kind of maintenance that new haircut would cost you. However, decision is still yours to make, so it is ultimately your choice to heed her advice or otherwise. I went ahead with my bob as opposed to the suggested concave cut Nora suggested. Oh no, she didnt bite me.

Treatment

YHS
Rating 3 out of 5

I had only done Henna Treatment, and nothing else. As mentioned, Liza is more reserved, so I guess there is no need to suggest anything more than what I want.

NMHS
Rating 5 out of 5

I took up her promotion for the 3 treatments as follows:

Henna Treatment: Nora uses real fresh henna leaves, pounded to paste and left overnight to sit before she uses them to treat the oily scalp - this I can tell by the freshest smell of Henna. (Powdered Henna can smell strong, but it lacks the fresh smell. This I can personally tell as we used to grow our Henna Leaves back in our Pasir Panjang house, so I still remember how it is like to have fresh henna leaves pounded, the distinctive smell, you just cannot forget that)

Tree Tea Oil: This treatment helps balances your scalp to a neutral, leaving your head light and fresh.

Pearl Masque: For the delicate hair to remain silky smooth.

The Verdict

Clearly, my personal winner is...

She won me at her location really. Having my husband to care for Baby M with the hot weather, for over 2 hours was clearly an achievement, I have never really left my husband alone with Baby M without me on the side keeping a hawk eye on both of them. Not that I don't trust my husband to care for Baby M, he clearly has so much for her. I just wasn't sure if Baby M can put up with the hot weather and if she can communicate with my husband if she wants milk or anything for that matter. So far, she has been amazing, and for the past 2 weekend or so, she has been telling us if she wants her milk.

And of course, with her way in keeping me well awake through the 2hours, I can hardly keep myself awake at YHS. I am coming back for a second session, no doubt!

I am not sure if I would actually try the other salons, mainly because of the location.. East is too far for me la!

Anyways, if you have been there, or if you have done a review write up for the rest of the other salons, please do share. We have got Muslimahs wanting to try yes?

Btw, here are their FB Page for you to take a look at

Have a great Hair Day, Ladies! And husbands, you should really let your wives indulge in some hair theraphy. It goes a long way!
Wassalam,
Jun

EDIT:
Assalammualaikum ladies, pls note that Nora Muslimah Hair Salon has closed shop. Refer to this entry for an update. InsyaAllah a new review will follow very soon about another Muslimah Hair Salon located in the west of Spore ya.

Al-Huda Hub

Assalammu'alaikum family, friends, readers and followers of this blog.

Yeay! Another review for another local business!

Al-Huda Hub - do like her FB Page!

Being a fellow jubah and modest clothing seller myself, it took me quite awhile to register that I am getting a jubah from someone else. For once, my supplier was charging me a little higher than this seller, so I was lured to shop. Afterall, doing business in Islam forbids the discouragement from engaging other business outlets, we are encouraged to promote other businesses if it is within our capacity, if that other business have what we don't, and to leave it to the customers to choose with whom they wish to shop with. It actually tests and shows that we have faith in our own rezeki.

And so.. how did I find this Al-Huda Hub? By curiousity really. I saw someone don this jubah which my supplier supplies, so I asked her where she get hers. Yup, you guessed it right, she directed me to Al-Huda Hub, and I started browsing like mad. I could possibly guarantee that her price was the lowest, and very reasonable. It is clear that she is following the Islamic way to do business, with minimal profits - in fact I find her business to be doing a lot of dakwah in a very subtle way.

So, I bought two tops with much interest to get the La'Cherie Jubah. I decided to wait on the Jubah, and get the tops first. The seller wasn't angry at my indecisiveness, or the fact that I decide to drop the jubah with no real guarantee that I will return to buy them.

I was rather surprised that I bought two very beautiful syariah compliant tops for just $20 each, yes! Just $20! Out there, if you look at some dresses... Some not very syariah compliant, much less to say nurse friendly, are priced at some $25 or higher a piece, here I got myself a top for just $20. And so I thought, there must be something I don't quite like about it.

Wait I shall, for the parcel to arrive, and when they did....

How can anyone not love this design!

That's me wearing the blue Muslimah Peplum

And that's me wearing the black Fishtail Cut
Aren't they gorgeous? And to just add $3 for mailing and receiving them 2 days after is amazing. These tops has weight to them but at the same time, it felt light wearing them. I especially liked the fishtail, but not quite a fan of gathered sleeve. But I love them nonetheless because it is just so complete.

It doesn't give away the shape of my body, is not transparent/translucent at any part of it. It is long bodies, covers me well - especially the Peplum, for a 1.57m short person I am, it actually covers till my calves, so i sometimes wear it as night wear. It is just THAT comfortable!

So, the following week, having had awesome experience with Al Huda Hub, I returned for more.

I was in Melaka when I decided to shop with her. As with most online businesses, the policy is such that payment needs to be made within 24-48hrs so other buyers who could pay earlier can have them first and to avoid unnecessary hogging and "chope" practices that prevents other serious buyers from buying and getting them first. It is no different with Al-Huda Hub. Payment was demanded, so I told her I was in Melaka, and earliest I could possibly pay is when I return.

She understood my position and arranged for a special arrangement for me. I find that soo sweet! She don't have to, and she could just tell me to get back to her once I am able to do the transfer, but she didnt. And so I told her I would be back Sunday or Monday, and she asked if I'd like to opt for a courier at a nominal $5 fee, and of course I agreed!!

She even arranged for a COD for me. That trust, is beyond words! I haven't met her, nor do I have any idea how she looked like, but this gesture made me love her, and I hope she will be bestowed with great health, good heart and always guided with imaan.

It has been almost 2 weeks since I received the items, I've worn the red Muslimah Peplum, sadly, with my busy schedule, I haven't had time to snap shot myself in it.

I've tried both the Le'Cherie Jubah I had ordered, and they both needed alterations to their lengths, so I'd do that this weekend.

While I get myself some time to snap shot myself in these three new outfits I get from Al-Huda Hub, how about you gorgeous ladies visit her page and do some online shopping?

The jubahs are beautiful for Syawal! And the tops are miraculously very comfortable - I took out the shoulder sponge (fyi) because I prefer without. I tell you there are truly amazing! Nursing friendly, just lift up, and cover, very very convenient!

I will add the pictures here and re-share it once I do!! Until then, stay tune!!! I have more to share, but very little time, so keep the emails coming with the topics you want me to share, ya?

Much love,
Wassalam,
Jun

A little Review for Loveminsg

Assalammu'alaikum family, friends, readers and followers of this blog.

Yup, yet another review for another local start-up - Loveminsg.

As the name suggested, I guess it is created out of love & passion, and indeed I fell in love with their creations which was gifted to me for my very very belated birthday celebration on 29th Jan.

Well, I was suppose to do this next week, but considering we will be busy this whole weekend, we might take a few days to rest after, and this might get lost somewhere.

Sooooo.....Let's get carried away with some pictures..

Hey! That's me and the owner's son!

Yup, that's the whole clan of the Wives.

We can't tell whose birthday it was, but the boy was humming the birthday song and even blew the candle - it must be his then! Hehehe

Yup the two November babies celebrated in January because of all the weddings and holidays that happened between November - December. But hey, all is forgotten when we got our presents, yes?

These are what I brought home from that night.

These are the ones from Loveminsg!

Their Swarvoski Crystal Hijab Pin is a beauty!

And their hijab pin cushion cupcake is oh so pretty, isn't it!!!
I've used the cushion pin since the day I got it, almost right away because my pins have been all over the place. Every morning it has been a struggle to find that color pin I wanted to wear. And now, since this cushion pin arrived, each morning has been a breeze. I know, I rarely use pins, but when I do...
I become pretty amazing! HAHA! See how the butterfly settles down so nicely?

And the red one too! I wore this one to Melaka and almost lost it!

I am the kind of person who is wary of pins especially the decorated ones, because for some reason most of the prettiest kind tend to stick out like an antenna from my head searching for some signal of some kind. So I was pretty skeptical at first.

When I wore it, and it settles like that, I knew I am in love! The pin is sharp, so I find no need to struggle poking it through a few layers (I like to fold my hijab, so it can get pretty thick). It kept my folds neat and secure (AWESOME!). And if I forgot I am wearing it and tried to remove the hijab, it gives quite a strong nudge (Oooppsss!) but, it didn't tear my hijab, and neither did the pin get bent. So it is quite a pretty sturdy thing this small pin!

What is more awesome is that at lovemin, all these handmade beauties are affordable!

Lovemin at their very first public event!

To browse more of the lovely products, do browse here or catch them here!

Till the next entry,

Revlon Colorburst Matte Balm

Assalammu'alaikum family, friends, readers and followers of this blog.

As you would have read in my previous review post on the Lacquer Balm, I am never a make up person by default. but this balm have woken up my love to doll myself up. Heh!

I am not an expert la, far from it all! I just like to make myself pretty in my husband's eyes.

So yes! As you would have known, I ordered some Matte Balm online. Yup, I ordered two! One is #205 - Elusive and one in #225 - Sultry.

Awesome I tell you! Like the Lacquer Balm, it is a balance of a lip balm and lipstick. Really! The pigmentation is awesome. And I get go over it again and again without feeling like I had just slapped a tonne of lipstick on my lips!

And this #205 has since became my everyday color for it leave me this very natural look. Whereas the #225 brings up the mood on my face. The magic color of some sort. :)

#205 kindda matches this plum hijab I have on :)

#225 lifts the mood on my face, I think. :)

#205 & #225 side by side don't seem to have much color difference, do they?

Yup.. my favorites at the moment.
And as with the Lacquer Balm, this awesome lip balm keeps my lips moisturize. The color sort of stay but fades to a natural bare lips color sort of thing, BUT when I take a closer look, the pigmentation is still there. I don't quite know how to explain this..

Anyways, being a non-make up person, and having to love putting this on seems to shout out to everyone that this stuff is a must have, isn't it?

Happy trying!!

Suuefle's Addictive Rolling Chips

Assalammu'alaikum family, friends, readers and followers of this blog.

Have you heard of Suuefle? Well if you haven't.. go grab her rolling chips!! If you are a fan of Nutella, go grab her Nutella tarts. I am serious when I say she bakes the most awesome rolling chips!

And when I was getting to know Sue, she was just a baker building her dreams. Now, Suuefle seemed to have made her dreams come true. Suuefle can be seen in eatery shops physically displayed there readily for you to purchase and indulge in her awesome bakes right away.

That, on top of her online shop taking orders.

What I find was more awesome is that her bakes are not overpriced. This small container below, just cost me $10 each.

Just a word of caution though, if you do grab one, do give thought to buy another just in case, because as her tagline says.. "Taste it, be an addict!"

It says the truth! Once you open it and munch, you just can't stop!!!

That two bottles were empty in a matter of 4 days max! And I ate 90% of it all, with husband managing to steal the 10%!

What is so special about her rolling chips?

Super cute bite size!

Awesome for kids, and more awesome for the adults!

Super crunchy!

Yep, a crunch a bite baby!

So small yet so full of taste!

Oh yes! Yummilicious to every small little crumbs!!

$$$

Oh don't worry, it didn't break my pocket, so it wouldn't be breaking yours either!

Where to get this?!

So, other that finding her on instagram, where else can you grab these cute little bite size bakes?

You can find her wonderful bakes at these following eatery places:

Orang-Orang
Blk 134 Bukit Batok West Ave 6

Kampong Corner
602 Sembawang Road
Next to Sewbawang Shopping Centre

Blk 4A Eunos Food Centre #01-15 (Satay Shop)

Otherwise, look her up in Insta (@suuefle) and order directly!

Now, get me some more rolling chips if you drop by to get her #barangbaik okay?

Revlon Colorburst Lacquer Balm - Review

Assalammu'alaikum family, friends, readers and followers of this blog.

Almost midweek! So hang on there!! Stay Calm and read my blog, chey chey chey! Hehe..

As you would have known, I am never a make up person by default, and that too for many reasons, but today, I will be doing a review for this new stuff that caught my attention.

The Revlon Colorburst Laquer Balm!

I like the size. ;)

I picked #110 - Coquette.
I like to keep my face natural, so this color suits me enough, it is not that dull, and not too obvious.

I slapped on lip balm before putting this one. Silky smooth finish.

This is without slapping on lip balm prior. Gives a natural finish.
Well, it doesn't really stay - partly because it is a lip balm, and partly because I tend to lick and peel/bite my chapped lips. BUT this one doesn't make my chapped lips worst, in fact it actually moisturize my lips and kept it under control most of the time, I just need to remember to touch up - which I'd always forget!

I don't really like lip balm because it has this sticky feel to it, and I am always forever forgetful. But this thing, it doesn't give that sticky feeling, at the same time, it doesn't dry my lips like other lipstick would. It kindda strike a good balance. And if I take a close-up pic of my lips, it actually has shiny bits to it. Heh... But my close-up might scare you, so I'd save the trouble. ;)

To be honest I am not a fan for shiny lip balm, because it made my chapped lips more obvious, so why this? Well, I was initially attracted to the Colorburst Matte Balm, and sadly, it has limited color availability at the drug store nearby, so I got this.

But fret not, as I had ordered online for the Matte Balm. Andddd, be sure I'd be writing a review on that one once I get my hands on them!

And it can be read here!

Till I catch up in the next entry,
Wassalam,

Delphin S1 Review - Part 2

Assalammu'alaikum family, friends, readers and followers of this blog.

So this entry is about our awesome machine the Delphin S1 - the after sales service review!

I know how busy a sales person (especially one who goes from house to house to do a demo based on the scheduled given by HQ), so I texted him and asked when he is free for a second round of home demo - to basically cover what he missed out due to the time constraint the first time.

He replied in less than an hour. And we set a date. He had to put me pretty late (a 9.30pm slot) but I was okay with it, besides, the vacuum is low noise maker so it wont be disturbing much. My baby was sleeping while he was doing our second demo, and she slept through.

As per our first demo, he came and greeted us so cheerfully, and apologized for slotting us at such a late timing. Because it is so late, he quickly jump to work. And as he sat down with our machine, before I could say anything, he said, "You know uh, this machine is awesome, but if you go to the internet, you'd actually still find bad review, Know why?"

And I smiled, "I was about to ask you about the bad reviews."

And he replied, "Because as much as this machine is awesome and great, it is dealt by people like me. We are the person customers deal with, and there are 100 of us, how much can our boss control, right? I tell you out of this 100, quite a number is PRC. And you would imagine how a female PRC promote this item to sell la hor. I personally don't like the way they sound. I just cannot stand that kind of voice. I even scold my girls if they want to manja with me leh, and I am their father. So imagine when i hear them show how they promote our machine, my ears can bleed lei. And of course some of us are pushy also, which I actually dun understand why they have to be pushy, because this machine don't need much pushing if they understand it, and the customer want it"

True much! There are bound to be bad apples anywhere you go who'd spoil the market, who makes things less pleasant. I am just glad the HQ sent Mr Patrick Tan to me. He is friendly, not pushy at all, and always willing to help us when we got a lot of questions, who always had his full attention on the client. We could here his phone ringing and beeping, but he ignored them all as he is in midst of the demo. You can tell he is not that hard up for the commission to seal the deal, he believes if his client trust him, they would understand he is busy, but surely, guaranteed, he will reply them all in due time. Just like how he did for me, he may reply an hour later, but he did get back to me.

And so he showed more of this wonderful machine. He showed us and gave us many more tips, and answered most questions we had in mind. Do you know we can clean the power broom? Heh. I tell you, it is easy.. just take out cover, wipe with wet cloth. a 5min job or less!

He also gave us a tip on how we can lessen the number of time we had to dismantle our fans to wash. Easy la, because this Delphin is such a darling, you just vacuum the outside using its duster, and do it everytime you are cleaning the floor la, you know, multitasking. Not that hard, and it takes like a min or two. Suction so good, it can clean so well, so if the outside is clean, the inside would be harder to contain dust. Makes sense, that would probably make us dismantle the fan to wash from once a week to just once every 6months or for an even longer period. Awesome.

And because this machine is such a wonder, he actually QC check us! And he went "eh, no point you know, buy then never use to its optimum. Why here still dusty? Clean la, and he conveniently use our machine to clean up as he go. He is just a gem to us, really. And he made us all guilty - YES i mean we use the machine frequently, but maybe we just didn't think it can clean places we never thought existed - in some way. Haha.. I mean who actually goes swiping the top of the doors, right?

And so the next day, I was out to clean the house with the machine. After countless times of usage, the machine still does wonders. And here's how much dirt we collected in the house!

BEFORE : Clear tap water against my flooring

AFTER: Just my parents' room including a Queen Size Bed using the Power Broom and floor.

AFTER: Living room, ceiling fan, my room floor, and everywhere else possible to clean except the kitchen

AFTER: Just my bed, and baby's mattresses.
Amazing isn't it? Who would have thought so much dirt existed before this machine? I mean we know it is dusty, but we clean, and it is just disturbing to see the floor so clean, the bed so clean, and yet when I on this machine to  clean, I still capture so much!

If you'd like him to do the demo and run through the installment plans or prices, let me know. I'd gladly pass u his number. Afterall, a sales person needs to eat, and his rice bowl pretty much rely on the referrals he gets.

Do also note that this post is in no way sponsored, neither was I fed with freebies by Mr Patrick Tan. What I write here is purely my opinion, and my experience with Delphin. This machine is bought by our own hard earn money, and here is my brutally honest say, IT IS WORTH EVERY CENT.

This machine is truly not just a vaccuum cleaner..

And because I am sick today, I shall have this running to sanitize the air as we sleep. How can I not love this machine...

Till next entry,

Our 2nd Anniversary... (Also Review of Delphin S1 -Part 1)

Assalammua'alaikum family, friends, readers and followers of this blog. December is flying past to welcome January it seems. The week went by with me struggling to catch up..

Alhamdulillah, we turned 2 last week. We bought each other the best machine we can get - the Dephin!

Pretty isn't it. The carbon fibre look was not why we bought it though. It was its purpose, and versatility of function in this one compact machine.

We basically bumped into Delphin by accident. We simply dropped by a baby fair at Expo before we head down to a Minion Party one day.. And someone just stopped us and said, "You Singaporean?" Of which I was startled and said a stammering yes. Then he signalled this lady to give us something.

Very drama huh? But it is for real!

"This is free for you, ma'am! One for every Singaporean who come by."

We were lost, really we were. As with every Singaporean we were just happy we got something free for doing nothing. We have no idea what brand station we walked into.

Then she said there will be a cleaning demo done for us - again for free! - at our home, with an option to either clean our bed (mattress) or sofa set. Husband said ok for any Sunday. And we quickly said ok for the next day demo.

We never gave thought about what it was until the next day waiting for the demo to start. We discussed like what we would say if they pushed to sell, and what signals to give if we wanna say no and everything they is to think of.

So 3pm came, and the doorbell rang. A man called Patrick Tan greeting me with a weird name, I corrected him to just call me Jun, and our day became bright. He was so friendly, happy and knowledgeable. He didn't jump straight at us with something to sell. Instead he introduced himself properly, and then proceeded to introduce us to the company. After we warmed up with his presence, he went to work, and said, "So let me start my duty, to clean your mattress, I think we can do your bed in the room."

And we led him in, cleared the bed. While he set up his machine, we chatted more about stuff under the sun. We were ushered to sit in the room as he go through the machine with us, and its feature.

I honestly thought, "ah.. another vacuum machine that is better than the other!" For the next 10 minutes, it was just that.

Then it changed. I thought I was being the lady I am, jumping to buy what seemed good, but I woke myself up, and looked at my husband. I could see he is also impressed. We were basically very impressed with the fact that we left the fan on at its highest speed, and not feel dusty like with other vacuums (first of all, other vacuum demos would usually request us to off the fan during a demo). Patrick saw us switching on the fan, he didn't stop us, instead he thank us as he was feeling warm. It was on oscillation too! No dusty feeling, no stuffiness. Instead I felt like the air seemed cleaner.

He proceeded to show us more. He used his machine at its lowest speed, and he was almost whispering but we could all hear him loud and clear. This machine can be silent, have lower suction power, but still works (it seems). Then he switched it to higher power (it has this volume like dial that can go low power to high power), and it was still not very loud - it was acceptable. I was carrying a baby, and my baby didn't get startled. Neither did my 2-Tee squeak. Amazing point 1.

Then he started showing us the suction power with a cloth filter, after a few swipes, the suction is not as good as the first time. Proven, and agreed. We had Brand X and it did just that! Only works on Day 1 like magic after that it was noise and no work!

This machine doesn't have any additional filter - only its patented L-Lamella, and water. No dust bag, no cloth filter - which equates to minimal maintenance (and low to no cost of maintenance!). And he showed the same thing, swiping double the times as he did previously, and showed us that the suction remained as powerful as the first time because of that filter element.

Now this machine, can also be an air purifier! (Ah! No wonder I felt the air cleaner!) He took out the vacuum cord from the suction hole, added Dettol and you can sanitize the air as it purifies the air it sucks in, add in organic mint and you get aroma therapy as it purifies the air. Amazing Point 2.

Just in time! We were just looking for an air purifier to welcome the next doze of haze and the praying phase of the neighbor downstairs.

Then he switched the floor broom to a power broom, and said, "this is to clean your mattress" He had already shown us the massive dust picked up on our bed using the floor broom... I couldn't believe there's more to pick up.. He plug them in, and placed in on our bed, and with that he said, "A normal vacuum.." then he tilt the handle down... and said, "Now, a power broom!"

We were vibrating! That thing was beating my bed.. Like the old fashioned way of mother/father caning the mattress to clean and sun our mattress!! And believe it or not, he picked so much more stuff off our bed with that thing!! Amazing Point 3!!

After he was done with our bed, he said he would like to do the same for my parents' bed seeing they are of old age.. And we agreed.

But he was getting tired, and so requested for a rest which of course we obligated. We all need to sit down, cool off, rest and really, it is time to decide what to do with this machine! I handed him a glass of ice water and we were all sitting down to know more about this machine!

I was more interested to find out the cost of this machine so I can just quickly find out if it is visible for us to own it. My husband was more into its cleaning service contract. And so Patrick laid out the prices for us to see. Pricey it was! Indeed, very pricey... But putting together an air purifier, an awesome vacuum cleaner, and a dust mite exterminator... that would actually cost more, no? So husband and I looked at each other, as much as we wanted to we cannot afford this machine Patrick showed us.

And so we bluntly told him, we cannot afford so, and told him the max we are willing to go. He sorted things out, and told us they have an older machine, and it cost about half the price he showed us, and asked if we are okay. After much hesitation, and weighing out everything we had to, we agreed, and he went out to check on the availability and got us one machine delivered.

As we finished off all the paperwork, he proceeded to continue with my parents' bed.The water was clear tap water when he start off.. It went really dark after he was done. We were there watching, so he can't be cheating. And he advised us to do our parents' bed every week for the first month before gradually decrease the frequency.

Our machine arrived just as we were finishing with my parents' bed. And Patrick went on to pull out every part of this machine we just owned. Every part of it and where it goes and what it does (even after his intensive demo!).

He then told us to call him up for another round of demo with our own machine to better understand our machine and its capabilities. We haven't arranged an appointment but we have surely used our machine almost right after he left.

I love the machine so much because now we are both motivated to clean our house together. My husband has been using and helping me clean our room 200% more folds than ever before with this awesome thing!

Just last week, I used it again, to clear the dust on the ceiling. Believe it or not, this little shorty didn't require any stools or steps to reach the ceilings! AWESOME!

It was smooth and most importantly, it did what it was meant to do, which is to CLEAN!

And here, I am about to share the amount of dirt we picked up just from our bed, our room floor, the living room and the corridor to our parents' room.

I've never imagined so much dirt, even with previous vacuums, I never seen so much although I felt the house was dustier after I was done vacuuming. With this one, it picks up all dust ever imagined and leave our home with clean air. I am serious!

And yes, the above picture was one my husband send in to me - and yes, my husband cleans the house now...

This is one of the bestest anniversary gift we have gotten ourselves.

And oh! We went USS on our actual anniversary. Wanna read about it? I am drafting them all up - it requires so much planning as we were out in USS for almost 12 long hours!! It was so much fun!! And the photos are everywhere, so bear a little while more okay?

For the after sales service review, do read it here.

2yrs on, a post review here.

Until next time,

A gadget that fills me up... Review of Asus Transformer Book T100

Assalammu'alaikum family and friends! Alhamdulillah, it is Friday!

I am been itching to keep writing, there is just too many in my head sometimes, but those many things when typed out just become so little sometimes. Oh well..

Today, I shall just write a review on my latest gadget - the ASUS Transformer Book T100.

I have been searching so hard for a tab with full microsoft office installed, and yes, there is none! Can you believe it? And ya, why am I ever looking for a tab - a TAB? And that too with full microsoft office pre-installed?

Well, with business running, more paperwork needs doing. With the limited time I have, I am always on the run and I was just trying not to get a laptop because I often end up leaving it at home and just wont have it with me on the go.

Whilst searching on the background, I came across a mutual friend's post letting go some brand new gadget. A chromebook, so like a little kid, I called my husband, "Honey, your friend is letting go his Chromebook, can I?"

My wonderful husband, being so sweet, decides to bring me down to Funan because he wants to see the real thing and the specs and all. As everyone would have know, I am hopeless with IT technical stuff. Up to date, silly me still couldn't register what's RAM and what's storage space.

I am probably just ignorant because these things are just too technical for the already technical me. And it is just not me, it is the people in the industry! We are just overly dependent on those IT guys to come and tweak our computers whenever something isn't working well!

Ok now.. easy! Let's go back to our Funan walk-around. To our dismay, no chromebook was available but my husband's got a few insights from those sales people - to which obvious I didn't catch a word.

It is only when we visited Harvey Norman that the sales person asked why we look for a Chromebook, and what we are actually looking for.

"Something easy to handle, has windows, can operate office, you know" I said without blinking.

He led us to a section, "Why don't you get this? Can detach and transform into tablet, and have FULL Microsoft Office pre-installed, it runs on Windows 8.1 and ....." he went on (and of course got trailed off because it is technical going into RAM and what not)

My eyes beamed of course! It fits what I wanted! I can detach it and bring it wherever! PLUS full microsoft office!

How perfect! We bought it the next day, at S$599, only to have its price slashed to S$499 a few days later. Damn....

Oh wells. It works great! I managed to finish my Purchase Contract on it. I don't quite like the screen keyboard though. So, I ended up working on it as netbook more than working on it as a tablet. I should probably start searching for an app for a more ergonomical typing session with just the tablet.

Do you have a great screen keyboard app that I should consider? Drop me a comment! (As all comments to my blogs needs to go through a round of moderation, we appreciate a day's grace. Why I moderate them is simply because I don't want to miss any comments left by you, and I wouldn't want any spams on my comments section.)

My personal rating would be 3.5 out of 5.

It is a great piece, but I am guessing the dock will get a little loose if I keep attaching and detaching it every now and then. We'll see. Then again, I can always get the keyboard separately, right? So if you are looking for something versatile and yet perform your office documents well, this is the thing for you!

Till I blog again another day, with another story.

Talyta Shawls by Avilia Review

Assalammu'alaikum friends and readers.
I had trouble sleeping so I decided to write a review on these shawls that arrive.
The first thing that caught my attention is the size. It measures 200cm by 65cm. Those who knew me would have vouch for that. I just love love love big long and wide shawls!
The huge size allows freedom to style and give so much coverage (both front and back).
Secondly, the material. It is voile + cotton which means it is not slippery and most importantly, not easy to crease - or simply put as anti wrinkle!
Of course design plays a part. Talyta Shawls by Avilia has 24 awesome design and I had a hard time choosing!
Of the 24, these three are my choices (and pls forgive my bare face). I quickly put it on when it arrived to test and feel the shawl. I had no inner on, and didnt gather enough care to pin the shawl. It is just a wrap around really. And yes - to put the point that it is not slippery.
Despite its big size, it didnt put too much bulk even when it is wrapped a few times over. Wonderful isn't it?
Here's the pictures of me with the three designs I personally handpicked!

PS: If you would like to own these gorgeous pieces, we do have them and we are submitting orders this Friday via our FB Page. Shawls will reach us on Monday night and we will be mailing out on Wednesday. Order now! ;)
