Assalammu'alaikum family, friends, readers and followers of this blog.
Yes.. For the first time.. I finally participate in Me Made May and made my pledge to wear at least one me-made apparel per day through May 2017.
I missed May 1st because it totally slipped off my mind. I know for sure I was wearing a me-made but there is no proof because I really don't have a habit of doing a selfie after I dress myself up after a good shower.
I survived the rest of days so far. I document my daily selfies which I attempted as well as I can in my instagram here account. And do a summary of pictures on my facebook. I am attempting to do it here as well, so I can look back one year from today, what I can improve and what further challenge I can pledge for next year.
I only remembered about Me Made May on 2nd when I am in the office and I saw entries with #MMM17 and looked at myself. Hey I am wearing me-made, so I should really take a photo now and document it immediately. I had always struggled taking selfies, but let's try anyway.
2nd May - I wore my funnel neck Lane Raglan (Hey June)
This one I sewn March this year for a trip to Cameron Highlands.
3rd May - I wore my Charleston Dress, my 2nd favorite from Hey June
4th May - I wore a self-drafted knee-length top
There are some 2 entries mostly for 2 reasons, it was a non-working day. I usually avoid wastage and try to wear just one outfit a day, but some are really stay-home clothes. So ya...
Now,
5th May - Redwoods Joggers (Sew Like My Mom) at home, and change to my Burda Style 7525 when I need to fetch my girl.
6th May - Another Redwoods Joggers matching up my girl's Boxwood Joggers, then changed into our upcycle when we were asked to get ready by the husband
7th May - a mismatched outfit because seriously, it is a lazy Sunday. I wore my Justin pants (Serger Pepper), and wear over a cardigan from Gerobok Ashteen
8th May - back to Lane Raglan again!
9th May - self drafted knee length tunic
10th May - Lane, again! and a self drafted pants
11th May - Lane and Justin Pants again!
12th May - Lane again, do I have that many, really?
13th May - bucket hats (Oliver + S), self drafted pallazo on the first half then switched to our upcycled set for a wedding dinner
14th May - Izzy Tops (Climbing the Willow) on us!
15th May - Burda 7525
16th May - self drafted mid thigh length tunic.
* At this point, I figured, I really need to sew a pair of pants that is good to wear out already. I knew I had to sew that Goldilegs soon.. I NEED them!
17th May - Wore out my lounge pants (pattern from Naptime Creations, i believe) and my shawl which I simply rolled hem with a serger on all 4sides. That night my sister went thru A&E so I snatched my Halifax+Lane mash with its front sewn with an sleeping mind, so I just added a snap at the top and let it open thru the bottom part.
18th May - wore out my self drafted mid thigh tunic (with a horrible neckline but noone knows because i wear the hijab) and one of my proudest creation my skants (it looks like a real skirt in front but really it is a pants with just a front flap)
19th May - I wore my first upcycle project which kicked start my sewing adventure. It was a cropped long sleeve which I didnt love, with a pretty fabric, I turned it into a maxi!
20th May - I love this one but don't like sewing it. This is a pair of pelikat pants I sewn using a batik piece I own. I sewn a boyshorts (MBJM) for my girl that day too. We then switched to my Charleston Dress and a Maggie Dress (Bella Sunshine Design) on her to celebrate my Mother-In-Law's birthday.
21st May - I wore my Lane again and the #67 from B&T to the hospital to visit my sister.
22nd May - Yet, another Lane! Can't you tell that I really truly love Hey June's Lane Raglan?
23rd May - This one is my first knit project really. This is thermal knit which i made into a sweater with no armhole, elastic cuffs and ya.. wearable and proudly done and worn 2-3 yrs ago, today as I looked at it, there are just so many mistakes that I can easily avoid. But i keep it as is to remind me I started off at zero too. :)
I ran out of me-made tops, I still have my lanes, really.. but i figured it has to be now that I start working on my Goldilegs! And I did!
24th May - Proudly wore my first pair of Goldilegs, pattern from Stitch Upon A Time. Awesome fit, I tell ya! Super comfortable, just like her Scrundlewear!
It rained super heavily that day and I was soaked. So I excused myself to sew another pair of Goldilegs.
25th May - Yup, another Goldilegs, with a yoga waistband option this time. Boy, it felt like I am in my pajamas but look oh so good to be out and about! I mean that's what denim knit is suppose to do, right?
Now, about time I work on the Halifax View B (Hey June) for myself.. and matching Hatteras View B for Baby M.
26th May - I finally give the Halifax View B a go and wore it today, even made a matching Hatteras for Baby M, still wearing my Goldilegs. I swear it is too comfy to take off!
27th May - Because laundry is done, I wear my Redwoods again, and one of the first few tops that I sew. Since it is Day 1 of Ramadhan, we decide to break fast at my mom's place so we all wore our matching family raglan set which I sew.
28th May - Lane Raglan and yes... the Goldilegs again, I had it washed and grab it again when it's dry. I am serious.. Go make one!
29th May - Another of my self drafted shin length tunic of which I created my own cuffs. Elastic plus snap because I dont like just elastic which makes it either too tight or too loose.
30th May - My first raglan hoodie which went so wrong. The pattern pieces itself hardly match, the neck was huge.. It was a horror and nightmare before I found the Lane Raglan and subsequently stalk Hey June and got all that I like from there. :p
Last of Me Made May 2017...
31st May - Two of my favourite pieces.. The Lane Raglan with hoodie and the Goldilegs!
SO I made it! All 31 days.. and first day undocumented. I gained quite a number of new followers from the #MMMay17. Most of whom I followed back and found very nicely made clothings.
For next year's challenge, I think I will attempt more bottoms and inners possibly. I've got 3 pairs of Scrundies and surely will make more because it is super comfortable. :)
How did your Me Made May 2017 go?

5 of 12 Months of 2017
Assalammu'alaikum family, friends, readers and followers of this blog. Again, I got down to this right when it is the last leg of May.
This is special though, as I participated in Me Made May, in which I pledged to wear at least one me-made apparel a day through the whole of May just to gauge if I have enough to get by.
I ended up picking a challenge or two when it seems like a breeze during the first two weeks, in which I sew my own boy shorts. As with all me-made, it is 150% more comfortable then store-bought. It looks huge next to a store bought, but it oh so comfortable. It doesn't pinch me, it doesn't get eaten up by the crack and it feels like skin!
I also quickly got myself sewing two pairs of Goldilegs - hush! It looks like a regular jeans, but it has stretch making it oh so yummy to wear! I am so gonna hoard more stretch denim for this! Obviously better than store bought of which I had to alter the length by a wee bit, and the waist is loose with the hip okay or too tight. Basically ill fitting if I must really spell it out. It is so easy to pick a me-made over store bought for me.
It wasn't really hard to get my size, but i am small & flat all over.. So it gets challenging sometimes. I like my clothes loose but not ill fitting. It has to be comfortable and practical.
I am just glad I picked up sewing. Although I don't draft, I know how to sew. And with PDF Patterns widely available, it is a breeze for me to look for a pattern, purchase, download, print and start cutting and sewing almost right away! And with 2Quilter's help to stitch up A4s and print A0s, oh all the better!
Through this month, I made 4 baby gifts, and completed all my orders, except those who don't mind waiting more. I will be taking a 6 weeks Ramadhan + Eid break off business. So ya. Let's focus on family and good deeds through the blessed Ramadhan, yes?
I fell sick a little bit more this month, but I managed to hang on. Oh wait! Let's rewind!
I had my first Mothers' Day celebration on 10th May at Baby M's school. She was such a performer I tell you. All I hear was her voice during the show. This must be how proud it is to watch a child you bear and raise on stage eh! I can re-watch the video I recorded of her over and over and over again and still feel the pride spreading...
Now, to 13th May!!
I attended my good friend's wedding! It was a good day, I went way back to 2002-2005 as I watched her montage. I suddenly realized we both had so many years lost in between us! I often forget why we didn't stay close, but when we do catch up and meet again, those lost years just don't seem to matter. We just picked it all up right from where we dropped it!
Such friendship, I don't know if it still exist. I met a few friends like that this year. One whom we simply lost touch sometime in 2009/2010, and when we ok scratch that, she found me, we just kicked off right away. I guess such are females with male set up in our head for friendships. We cant seem to go petty and feel like we are all obligated to meet and get together every day or something. We can go years and know that we are still friends and that we can really rely on each other when it calls for it.
So many lost friendship found again. So many memories flooding my head. All for the betterment of us, I believe. God has His reasons why we parted and reunited.
And just like that, rewind to 6th May.. it has been a year since my good old man had passed.. One whole year without his hugs, jokes, laughs, nags, and all the love he had for all of us.
We tried filling up some joy by teaching our mom how to voice over at whatsapp, I never found myself smiling and laughing so much hearing my sisters, nieces and mom voicing back to back. It felt like they are there with me all the time. And I guess one day, if we meet death, we have these voices to remember us by.
And just like that, we are welcoming the 2nd Ramadhan without Bapak. All I remember is him telling me and reminding me to do my prayers before he went into his room that one last night I saw him alive... and every time I sew late into time, I hear his voice.
Right now, we are down to just 6 days to end May. I shall just post this up, and will post up my documented outfits for Me Made May 2017 before June begin.
May we all be in better shape for June and Ramadhan!
Ramadhan Ya Kareem, everyone!

4 of 12 months of 2017
Assalammu'alaikum family, friends, readers and followers of this blog. February went zoomed past me, and today is already the 4th week of April! Now let's catch up...
I started my April with confinement meal.. I ordered my healthy 20day lunch package from Kak Dyy. And yes, my lunch are healthy confinement meals... Kak Dyy is pretty widely known to all moms going through confinement for her delicious healthy meals. Meals that includes vegetables and greens that were known to be consumed to its last drop by those who usually avoid green for its infamous distasteful manner, maybe. But Kak Dyy's meals.. hmm.. nothing short of anything delicious.
And before you jump on me with questions, well no. I am not pregnant, and no, I did not miscarried, and no, I didn't give birth. I ordered this just because. I know I need to get on a healthy regime if I really want a baby, so this is part of my effort. Fret not though, I am not hoping high and hallucinating, just putting in some effort, afterall my body and health is also a form of amanah, right?
Some may say it is a waste of money, but if you have tasted Kak Dyy's food, you'd know your money is put to real good use. For the portion and wonderful burst of great taste (some of which you never knew existed), you'd be happy to spend that much.
I spoke to Kak Dyy all the wayyyy back in 2016. I keep asking her if I can slot in for lunch set for 20 days or something like that, but to always give moms who are really in confinement priority at any time. So I got in the April '17 slot, and since I only work 4 days a week, my 20 days stretch well over a month. :) If I don't get pregnant, I do sure hope I gain some weight!
Who would have guessed I would enjoy the brown rice, and pucuk manis and papaya broth, and scones.. haha.
I haven't touched/started on my orders yet.. Falling sick, and getting caught up with gatherings and celebrations and what not.
BUT, I got myself an embroidery machine. A second hand machine, and boy I got hooked. I brought it home 2nd week of April, bought materials and got going to test a few designs almost right away. At this rate, I will surely outgrow the 4x4inch hoop. Pfft. But it is good, until I get more monies, I will drive me to be creative and make do with what I have to create something challenging. So why not?
It got me researching on embroidery design softwares and what nots. Which is really really interesting, but definitely not cheap, and not straight forward if you are gonna design it yourself. It sure will have a steep learning curve.
Oh I tried making a 3-6month size romper.. A lil disaster at the crotch, so that needs some practice..
I got sick a little bit more often this month, the never ending cough, the frequent visit, it makes me lose some of my best momentum in making it for my orders on my usual speed. It is down to zero or maybe just a 3/10 speed right now. And that's why I don't fancy falling sick. When I felt better, work in the office envelope me to stay in the office till after 7pm. So I got home tired, and not up for cutting and sewing apparels. Since I was so addicted, I found myself embroidering. It is the only thing that didn't require me to be too spot on, since they will all be my tests or trials and errors, so I allow myself to make mistakes, and rid off my deep desire to just be productive of some kind.
While recuperating, the husband got fun things for me in the last weekend of April.
We went to Marina Barrage for kite flying and had a good walk around since we were all on public. I has some last minute sewing because it was so sunny and I won't want Baby M to get burnt.
So enjoy my April photos!
Captions will be added later! I gotta run now!
Until I blog again,
