What have I been up to?

Assalammu'alaikum family, friends, readers and followers of this blog. I know... I know.. I am sorry for the month long silence..

I have been realigning my business and thinking about our purchases and sales lately that I have left with very little time to blog, but I, as always, would shamelessly share our latest creations at Sewbasic.

Oh before that, I will have to say and emphasize that sewbasic will be working on her branding and would like to focus on her well received skants. In fact, we even created a little tot edition too, and I tell you it is soooo cute!!!

I would be working a lot on varying the styles and designs, which means we need to shop for lots of cotton! I am going to work really hard on the sizes soon.

I hope I will have some time to sew for Baby H and possibly try work on having something for the little boy,

Are you getting impatient for some photos already? Hey, enjoy!

Would like to place an order? Come along and visit sewbasic! Chat us up, quote 'njunaidah' and enjoy 10% off any purchase. :)

Wassalam,
Your sewing Godmother,

Life Advices

Assalammu'alaikum family, friends, readers and followers of this blog.

I will just be honest, I want to rant! And after all those rants I typed out, I decide to take it to a positive light and share advices that helped my life somehow.. And here they are, (and if you wish to add, just leave us a comment*):

At Home

The women in the house are often the last to be on bed for many reasons and if you wish to have your woman by your side with you or early in bed as you think she deserves the rest then, here are some advices that you may wish to take and make a habit -

1) When you are done with your drink/food, even if you THINK you want a second serving, please bring them to the sink and wash them while deciding on the second serving.
  - if you dont want it now, chances are you would forget, and guess who would be picking after you?

2) When you see a mess, clean it up regardless who created the mess. Who do you think clean up your mess when you left it in a hurry?

3) When the bin is full, tie it up, and throw it out. Who would love a smelly kitchen??

4) When the laundry basket is full, bin it to the washing machine and run it. Why must it wait?

5) When you see the machine finish its run, hang the laundry to dry. Again, why must it wait? Don't you need fresh new clothes?

6) When you see clothes neatly folded, pick it up and keep it. Often the drawers are pretty organised, please take some time to know what goes where, it is beneficial to you too, you know!

7) If you can do it yourself, then do it. Why must someone else do it for you?

8) If the food made is not as tasty, please reserve your criticism. It takes effort regardless the end product. Your criticism will only hurt, and a wounded heart is not easy to live with.

9) Please and thank you, DOES go a LONG LONG way. Appreciate the people who helped you, who picked after you, who clean after you and who voluntarily or not does things that you can do yourself, for you.

10) Hug and kiss the person you are married to, just because they deserve one.

There are a lot of things why I give these advices. Most men typically expect their women to do everything there is at home, and yet complain of the tired bodies of their women, the full mind activities in the women's head, and the non-existent of their women because they are too busy. Well, I know not all men are like that. And if you aren't, thank you, and PLEASE spread your vibes to the other men. Seriously, if you want your woman to be at your side when you are home, then help lessen her burden. Don't let her clean up by CLEANING up.. Not just by telling her not to, those cups, plates and everything else don't go shower themselves at night while we sleep. Don't let her do housework, by HELPING out and making her list shorter so she can focus on you. Little help goes a long way. So, please do HELP while you CAN.

If you expect your women to do the job at home, then make sure she is not going to work to help do what men are meant to do. Men are suppose to pay bills, bring food to the table, and everything we need at home, right? So if you are sharing those responsibilities, then move your ass and share the "responsibilities" at home that is beneficial to YOU as well as EVERYONE in the household.

If you are tired, well you are NOT alone, so are the women in the household. Yet, we work 24/7 just so everyone benefits from a neat home, washed dished, fresh clothes and clean toilets!

At Work

1) Be early. If you can't, be on time. If you are late, make up for the time lost. If there is no way to make up for the time, then do your work diligently and give your all.

2) Love what you do, but don't love too much for not ALL companies love you as much as your FAMILY. (In other words, know your priority, leave work at work, and keep family close after work hours)

3) If it is within your job scope, then do it. If it isn't but affect you, and you can do it, then do it. If you know it is someone else's job, then tell/remind him. If he has his hands too full, then help what you can provided your job within your job scope is done and you have some spare time and energy to help. You never know when you would need someone to help you one day...

4) Say thank you and please.

5) Check your stationary, if it is not yours, return it. If you don't know whose, then put it in a common place so the owner can retrieve it. If yours go missing, then ask around or just get a new one. There will always be an idiot who takes away your stationary. God knows who!

6) Keep your desk neat. Always know what is on your desk, if you don't then it is time to clean up!

7) If you are not happy, then find a new job. No need to whine and tell everyone you are finding for a new job, it wont be nice if no new job lands on your lap before the news get to the boss.

8) Be nice. Doesn't matter who isn't. Just be nice.

9) If there is nothing to do on your list, turn around, or go to your superior if there is anything you can help with. Sometimes, a long list is waiting and he just don't want to disturb you thinking you still have a long list to strike off.

You need your job, you need your salary. So do it right. You wouldn't want your staff to be FBing and SMSing 6 hours out of the 8-hour job that you are paying someone to do.

At School

1) Pay Attention

2) Be initiative

3) Ask if you doubt, if you are shy, then approach the teacher privately during the break or after school.

4) Be good, teachers are also human.

5) Study smart, play hard, and chase results!

6) Although the journey counts more than the destination, the world is cruel to only pay attention to where you are, so you gotta kick some ass sometimes.

7) If someone says you can't, you jolly well prove them wrong, if you really want it.

8) If someone thinks you can when you knew you can't, smile and say you would your best, and DO give it your best shot.

9) Seek your parents love and blessings, sometimes, their prayers works wonders.
